I had an opportunity to test new pattern of mama says sew. It is “Eva Dress and Top” pattern and it is released now (and there is a coupon code for this pattern in the end of this post :))!
As you see from the name, it has two lengths options, dress and top. I made a dress.
And it has two options to finish sleeves and hem, with ruffles and bias bindings. I chose ruffles.
I think this is the great pattern to show case the combination of the fabrics. I thought of some different combinations and finally decided to use this one.
I am sure you have seen this main fabric. It is Glimma by Lotta Jansdotter and I bought it while ago when it was on sale. I wasn’t sure what to make with it though I loved the pattern. Now I really like the combination of this and yellow contrast.
That yellow contrast fabric is linen blend from JoAnn’s remnants rack.
I love this combination of the button and the dress too. I had got lost which button to use on this dress, when I found this button I felt like “this is the best combination of the button and the garment, EVER!”.
The pattern is from 18M to 8. It comes in PDF and with clear instructions and color photos. I will definitely make another ones with another fabric combinations!
Well, sorry for all the blurred photos. I had hard time to take photos of this dress. Especially it is getting cold here and is becoming difficult to have a photoshoot outside (which is ideal for my can’t-stay-still-even-for-a-moment kids). How are you guys managing winter photoshoot?
And now the coupon code! You can buy this pattern for $5 now with the code EVA2OFF on mama says sew. The sale price will be effective through Monday. On Tuesday it will go back to the regular price of $7. So grab it while you can!
Happy Sewing and Happy Black Friday Shopping!
