About

Hello and Welcome to my blog, “Nutta”.
“Nutta” is a Japanese expression for “I sewed it”.
And yes. I am a Japanese who grew up in Japan until I moved to US in 2010. I moved there because of my husband’s job with my family which meant my husband, me and a daughter who was 1 1/2 yrs old then.
In 2011, I gave a birth to another girl. I became a mom of two girls and that fact made me start sewing.
I bought a sewing machine in December, 2012 and started sewing adventure since then. First I started sewing my girls’ clothes and then started sewing my clothes after several months.
I started blogging about my sewing in May, 2013 and moved to WordPress in April, 2014.
Then, all of a sudden, I got sickness in February, 2014 and to recover, our family moved back to Japan in June, 2014. I will continute sewing and blogging now here in Japan for sure because they already became very important parts of my life.
I love to make clothes with simple, clean style with some twist. I love the world of fabric. I love the perfection of Japanese Sewing patterns(books) but also adore the easiness and the variety of PDF patterns from all over the world!

My newesr adventure started in October, 2014. I opened a tiny fabric shop called “Nutta Fabric” on Esty. I was always in need of high quality fabric perfect for sewing clothes while I was in US. Now I’m selling some unique fabrics there and they are of course with high quality and perfect to make clothes. Please visit my shop and take a look around.
Thank you for coming to my blog and had a time to read about my story.

If you have any questions or suggestions or just want to say, “hi!”, please feel free to shoot me an email to: shinoofnutta at gmail.com .

Thanks!
Shino

  1. Just found your blog and have loved reading through your old posts. You’ve sewn some really beautiful clothing! Best of luck on your move back to Japan (it’s one of my favourite countries!). You’ll have access to so many beautiful fabrics there to continue your beautiful sewing projects. Greetings from Italy.
